The Best of Sicily - Tour Specifics

TOUR DATES: Come back for 2027 dates!

Cost: The land cost of the tour is $TBD per person, based on double occupancy. Single rooms are available for a supplementary charge of $TBD. Airfare is not included.

For those of you who travel with us often, please note that this trip is one night longer than our usual Sicily itinerary!

Accommodations: 9 nights lodging in elegant, historic hotel properties including: 3 nights in Palermo, 2 nights in Agrigento, and 4 nights in Taormina. All rooms have ensuite baths.

Meals: All breakfasts plus one full-course meal daily are included.  All meals…after breakfast!…include regional wines. We carefully choose the restaurants based on ambiance and quality of cuisine.

Wine Tastings: Scheduled tastings of various Sicilian wines (including small local producers and famous well-known producers).

Transfers - April 6-15 - Palermo to Taormina: Upon arrival to Palermo Airport (code: PMO), your transfer to the tour hotel is on your own. For departure, there will be a group shuttle departing Taormina at 9 AM going to the Catania airport. If you require other transfer services upon arrival/departure or after the tour, transfers can be arranged upon request for an additional fee.

Transfers - Oct 20-29 - Taormina to Palermo: Upon arrival to Catania Airport (code: CTA), a transfer to the hotel in Taormina is included. We will group guests within 90 minutes of their arrival time as much as possible. For departure, transfer to the Palermo Airport will be on your own. If you require other transfer services upon arrival/departure or after the tour, transfers can be arranged upon request for an additional fee.

Admissions: Entrance fees for all planned visits to monuments, galleries and museums are included.

Small, Intimate Group: We will be limiting the number of participants to a maximum of 16.  We need a minimum of 12 guests for a tour to run.

Arrival and Departure: The tour will begin at our hotel in Palermo and end with a transfer to the airport in Catania. If you require transfer services to reach the hotel upon arrival or after the tour, transfers can be arranged through our travel partners for an additional fee.  **Please request an itinerary for full details on arrival and departure inclusions.

Early Arrival/ Late Stay Options: Depending on hotel availability you may be able to arrive early or stay after the end of the tour. We'll be happy to help you make these arrangements. For trip extensions of 2 nights or less, we provide planning assistance on a complimentary basis. For extensions of 3 nights or more, there is a nominal fee of $150 to assist with trip planning including booking hotels, guides, drivers, etc.

Tour Exclusions: Airfare; hotel city tax (usually €4-7 per person, per night; payable onsite); trip insurance, and gratuities for your local guides, drivers, and tour leaders. Tuscany Tours tips at all group meal restaurants.

Gratuities: Gratuities are a personal decision, but we recommend €10 per person for each daily local guide and €10-20 per person per day for your Tour Leader. At the hotels, it is nice to leave €2-3 per day for the housekeeping staff and €1-2 per person per day for the breakfast room servers. For airport drivers, you may wish to tip €5 per person for a transfer with 1-2 passengers or €3 per person for a transfer with 3 or more passengers. Tuscany Tours tips all group bus drivers and at all group meal restaurants.

NOTES:
**Due to the ancient architecture of hotels renovated from restored palazzos, each hotel room is unique and room sizes may vary.

**All hotels have air conditioning but in the shoulder seasons, they may not be permitted to use them due to European laws. Please be aware that we cannot ask the hotel to use the air-con if it is against the current regulations in place.

**Tuscany Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour venues, tour leaders and guides as circumstances may require.

**The comfort and safety of our travelers is our priority. This is why we dissuade travelers with limited mobility from taking part in this tour. If you have mobility issues, please consider the high volume of steps and the terrain of the territory before booking.  All guests must be able to navigate steep and/or uneven surfaces like cobblestone and walk for at least one hour at a time to comfortably participate in this tour.
