The Best of Puglia - Tour Overview

Benvenuti in Puglia! Welcome to the heel of the boot, the country’s least-exploited tourist destination, which has been conquered by just about everyone, from the Byzantine Greeks to the Romans, the Arabs and the Bourbons.
Puglia has a microclimate that ensures sunny weather for much of the year. The so-called "lion sun"—il solleone—and a fertile land allow Puglia to grow intensely flavored olives, fruit and vegetables in abundance.
Puglia has miles and miles of golden beaches with azure water, a breathtaking combination of whitewashed hilltop villages, ancient olive trees and the Baroque beauty of cities such as Lecce—plus some of the tastiest food in Italy!

We’ll stay in two areas, in the north near the “Trulli” and in the Baroque city of Lecce. We’ll visit Polignano al Mare, Alberobello (the home of the Trulli houses), Matera in Basilicata (one of the most fascinating UNESCO sites), Locorotundo, Monopoli, Ostuni, Lecce, Porto Cesareo and the beautiful Puglia countryside.
We’ll spend a morning cooking with Italian moms and an afternoon sailing the coast on a catamaran!

As always Tuscany Tours will be incorporating music into the program and you’ll get the chance to dance the pizzica.
And while listening to local musicians, we’ll have an aperitive on the grounds of an ancient masseria that still has a functioning olive mill.
This trip has been specially designed to immerse you in the local culture. Come along and enjoy the unique pugliese lifestyle!
