Our trip to Umbria was like many other Tuscany Tours trips we have taken--excellent food, lovely places to stay, interesting activities and visits to lesser known churches, museums and historical buildings, in addition to the "must see" places. Pam and Sam have made many friends and contacts over their years in Italy, and the area guides they have are extremely knowledgeable and personable, adding even more to our experiences. The trips offer a good pace of activity and free time. As always, we enjoyed the other travelers on the trip.

Tuscany Tours always has guides that are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional at the same time. They add so much to our visits and we are never rushed. Meals and drinks offer a nice opportunity to visit more and get to know each other--including everyone on the trip.

Fede is an outstanding trip leader. She is friendly, helpful, professional and organized, and did a great job of keeping us on time when needed, but not rushed. She has great patience answering myriad questions. She interacts very well with everyone--restaurant owners, other places we go, and with us.  She knows the area very well.

Michele was also excellent. He has a good sense of humor and also clearly knows a great deal and could answer all questions. Assisi is a must see, and the information about the basilica and St. Francis' life that Michele gave us was excellent.

The Madonna del Parto in Monterchi was very special to see, as were the other art stops in Arezzo and Sansepolcro. All of the frescoes and paintings were fabulous, and it was so interesting and helpful to learn from our guides about the art we saw.

Our last dinner in Orvieto was outstanding, and again, it was fun and interesting to learn about their products as we were being served.  Beautiful and artistic surroundings as well.  We appreciated and are enjoying the woven towels we were gifted at the end of the trip, especially after visiting weavers in the old church.

We were very pleased with our trip. The attention to detail and the care that goes into planning each trip are things we have appreciated from our very first visit with Tuscany Tours, and why we keep coming back. The food was excellent and the places we stayed were comfortable and lovely. The trips embody for me the essence of Italy—the importance of food, daily life, history, our surroundings, and people.

We are happy to provide a ringing endorsement of our maiden voyage to Umbria. The trip was a love letter to this beautiful, unspoiled region of Italy from start to finish.  Every detail was planned with wonderful precision and checked every box that we could have imagined.  We felt like we had been placed in the warm and knowledgeable hands of a tour company and staff who could anticipate our every want and need.

We loved each and every one of the tour experiences.  While we did not know much about Umbria prior to the tour, we felt as though we got an intensive, off-the-beaten-path experience that made us feel less like tourists and more like local country people. We enjoyed perfect autumn weather, a treasure trove of insight from local guides and merchants, and the inimitable camaraderie of Tuscany Tours veterans who shared experiences from previous tours.

Fede was a joy from start to finish, filled with energy and warmth and an abiding love of her craft.  By the end of the trip, we felt as though we had known Fede for many years. She was equally generous with her time and attention to everyone in our group so I am sure she will receive similar praise from our fellow travelers. We also enjoyed our time with Michele and feel as though they made a great team. She and Michele worked seamlessly together and really complimented one another's strong suits. We also enjoyed Sam's artistic insight as well as each of the local guides and merchants who all added so much color to our experiences.

Our daughter is getting married in 2023 so no big travel plans. But we are looking ahead to 2024 and hope to join your galaxy of satisfied repeat customers!
