Catalonia Wine Tour - Tour Specifics

TOUR DATES:     May 3-7, 2024  (pairs with our Best of Barcelona & Andalusia tour - May 7-16, 2024)

The land cost of the tour is $2,196 USD per person, based on double occupancy. Single rooms are available for a supplementary charge of $299. Airfare is not included.

Accommodations: 4 nights lodging in elegant, historic 4-star hotel in Tarragona. All rooms have ensuite baths. Each hotel room is unique and room sizes may vary.

NOTE:  Due to the ancient architecture of hotels renovated from restored palazzos, each hotel room is unique and room sizes may vary.  All hotels have air conditioning but in the shoulder seasons, they may not be permitted to use them due to European laws. Please be aware that we cannot ask the hotel to use the air-con if it is against the current regulations in place.

Meals: All breakfasts, one full-course meal daily (either lunch or dinner), additional meals as scheduled. All meals—after breakfast!—include regional wines. We carefully choose the restaurants based on ambiance and quality of cuisine.

Wine Tastings: Scheduled tastings of various Catalonian wines (including small local producers and famous well-known producers).

Transfers: All ground transportation during the tour, including airport transfer to/from Barcelona Airport (code: BCN) to the Tarragona hotel. For the departure day, there will be a group shuttle departing  Tarragona at 9 AM and going to the Barcelona airport and/or to our central Barcelona hotel where the Best of Barcelona and Andalusia tour begins.  If you need to depart at a different time, we can help you book a transfer at an additional cost.

Guided Tours with local authorized expert guides: Wine guide and travel guidance in English for the whole tour.

Admissions: Private visits and wine tasting at five wineries. Entrance fees for all planned visits to attractions are included.

Small, Intimate Group: We limit the number of participants to a maximum of 16.  Wine guide and travel guidance in English for the whole tour.

Arrival and Departure: Airport transfers on arrival and departure are included. If you are continuing on to our Best of Barcelona & Andalusia tour, we'll drop you off in Barcelona city center. If you are flying out at the end of this tour, we will drop you off at the Barcelona Airport (airport code: BCN). Pick-ups or drop-offs at other locations or times can be arranged for an additional fee.

Early Arrival/ Late Stay Options: Depending on hotel availability you may be able to arrive early or stay after the end of the tour. We'll be happy to help you make these arrangements. For trip extensions of 2 nights or less, we provide planning assistance on a complimentary basis. For extensions of 3-5 nights, there is a nominal fee of $150 to assist with trip planning including booking hotels, guides, drivers, etc.

Tour Exclusions:  Airfare; transfers upon arrival and departure if different from the scheduled; meals not mentioned; hotel city tax (usually €2-5 per person, per night; payable onsite); trip insurance.
